Steinway Hall Performance Report:
On April 28， 2024, several students from Felicia Zhang’s studio all gave a short speech describing their musical journey, which was followed by stunning performances at the prestigious Steinway Hall and hosted by student Rachel Ling Gordon. It was an occasion for each student to demonstrate their musical talents and celebrate the joy of music, and the 23 beautiful performances certainly did bring joy to the audience.
At the end of this special event, the nonprofit organization Piano Village Foundation (PVF) presented the Awards of Achievement to 3 students Brigitte Xie, August Xiao and Rachel Ling Gordon for their outstanding musical talent and achievements.
The annual Awards of Recognition were awarded to Jiayu Ellie Su, August Xiao and Eddy Huang. Ellie Su, who will attend Andover this fall, has been recognized by Piano Village Foundation for her contribution to the PVF’s goal of spreading joy through music. The award also commended August Xiao for his outstanding commitment and talent of playing piano. Additionally, the presentation of awards was followed by a short speech by Eddy Huang, who explored the adversities she faced through her musical learning journey and how much joy she has gained from piano. Eddy has established a free music class, which she named Keys to Community, to provide musical education for young kids, while serving and contributing as a representative and Youth Elite Leader of PVF.
