Ellie Park

New Canaan, CT

Ellie Park is involved with helping Piano Village develop its online media presence and expand its reach towards more people in the local community. She is a senior at New Canaan High School, achieving high honor roll consecutively since her freshman year. She is also a top competitive swimmer in Connecticut and captain of her high school swim team. Music, in all its different forms, has always been a part of Ellie’s life. Music is what has always motivated Ellie to train hard and swim fast. In her younger years, she was an enthusiastic and talented piano player; she loved performing and creating pieces of music that moved an audience. She also picked up on the viola, loving the warm, resonant sounds of the string instrument. Ellie currently plays the flute and piccolo and has been the first chair flutist for her high school band since her freshman year. She is a student leader in her high school concert band: she is responsible for the 13 young flutists in the NCHS band whom she supports and helps guide to success. Ellie loves being involved in the community–especially when it involves sharing the beauty of music with others–and she wishes to help others explore their musical passions through the Piano Village Foundation

Alexander Liu

Short Hills, NJ
Alexander Liu, a twelve-year-old piano student from Short Hills, NJ, began his musical journey at the tender age of five and a half under the expert guidance of the renowned pedagogue, Mrs. Felicia Feng Zhang, whose exceptional teaching methods and unwavering dedication helped shape the early phases of Alexander’s musical and Core Literacy Education Foundation . At age 9, he studied under concert pianist, Dr. Diyi Tang, and soon after gained admission to the Manhattan School of Music Pre-college to study under Professor Miyoko Lotto. By age 10, Alexander’s blossoming skills led him to the distinguished Juilliard Pre-College, where he now refines his artistry under Professor Orli Shaham.
While still in his early years, Alexander’s list of achievements is noteworthy. He secured the grand prize at the National Young Virtuosi Recital Competition and clinched first-place honors from several esteemed competitions, including the Philadelphia International Piano Competition (2023), XIII Chopin International Piano Competition (2022), Millersville International Piano Competition (2022), Anselmo Academy IV International Youth Music Competition (2022), VI Paderewski International Piano Competition (2021), and the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition (2021).
Alexander’s dedication to his craft has opened doors to prestigious platforms like the Isaac Stern Auditorium, New York Town Hall, and Carnegie Hall, the latter of which has hosted him for over ten winner recitals. A memorable highlight of his career thus far was his collaboration with the Sound Symphony Orchestra for Mozart’s Concerto No.23, where he distinguished himself as the youngest performer at the NYSSMA Piano Showcase. Beyond live performances, Alexander has been featured on TV, including “Gifted Young Pianist” on iQiyi TV and the American Youth Talent and Art Contests by Sinovision.
Outside of his musical achievements, Alexander has excelled academically, achieving First Class Honors with Distinction in RCM Piano Practical Level 10.
Beyond his musical pursuits, his commitment to giving back to the community is evident in voluntary service at Piano Village Foundation since he achieved RCM Music Theory Level 8 in 2019. Encouraged by Mrs. Felicia Feng Zhang, he has plunged enthusiastically into his role, volunteering as a student leader. Alexander invests countless hours imparting knowledge and understanding to budding music theory enthusiasts, much younger than himself. This journey has not only enhanced his leadership and pedagogical skills but also deepened his appreciation for the transformative power of music education. Through this altruistic engagement, he has learned that teaching, in many ways, is an echo of learning, and the joy he sees in those young, eager faces is the most rewarding encore he could ever receive. Even though his music lessons are pretty serious and structured, Alexander’s time there is filled with friendliness, respect, and everyone encouraging each other to do their best. In 2023, his altruistic efforts were recognized when he was honored with The President’s Volunteer Service Award – Gold Medal .

Eddy Huang

Greenwich, Connecticut
My name is Eddy Huang, and I’m thirteen years old and live in Greenwich, Connecticut. I first started learning piano with my teacher Felicia when I was five, and her teaching has helped me so much and guided me through my journey of music. I have been invited to perform as a winner at Carnegie Hall many times and received the Superior Plus ranking for Sonatina Special Plaque Gold Medal from the National Guild of Piano Teachers. During my piano learning journey, when I didn’t understand the music concepts or met some problems, the older piano players from Piano Village helped me improve. They have helped me see the joy in playing piano. Now that I am older and more capable, I want to join Piano Village to deliver the help and warmth I’ve received to others.
